Cough, Cough

I swear. This week is totally conspiring against me in terms of working out. First I developed a super-dry throat. Next I had to do a ton of stuff for work and for the running club yesterday so I didn't get a chance to run. The weather's been cruddy, I have more meetings scheduled at work, and now I've developed a lovely barking cough. I could barely drag myself out of bed this morning. I'd thought about getting up early and running before work but I'm glad I didn't.

I admit, I'm pretty stressed out trying to figure out how or what to fit in in terms of running or other exercise.

On the off chance I don't get another run in before Sunday (which I'm hoping doesn't happen but there's a good probability that it will), I didn't want to go that long without posting. So instead, here's a list of current give-aways in the blogosphere that you might be interested in:

First off, Erica at I Run...Because I Can (which is a great blog title, by the way), is giving away a 24 case of Popchips. She also has a few other giveaways going on, too, so definitely check her out.

Next we have Beth at Shut Up and Run (whose blog you really need to read if you don't already). She is having an INSANE giveaway. Yes, you could win an entire running outfit! There's also a photo contest component that should prove to be hilarious.

And I'm sure there are a million more going on. I don't always enter them because I am picky about what I want to win. How about you? Do you like to enter giveaways or contests? Did you manage to avoid getting sick all winter only to get sick now that the seasons are changing? What do you do when you don't know how to fit in a workout?

Oh yah, those spring time colds can be the worst! I think mine is more from allergies but still not fun. Hope you feel better soon!

Some days (or weeks) are just crappy. No rhyme or reason to it. Feel better. I like that term "pace bashing." I do it to myself all the time. It's no good!

I feel the same way about give aways. I only enter about 1/4 of the ones I know about.

Oh, yuck - I hope you feel better. SO many people are getting sick now, what with the weather acting all bipolar. My mom always told me to gargle with salt water for a sore, scratchy throat....yucky, but it does help!

If I don't think I'll be able to fit in a workout, I really look and see if there is anything I can "sacrifice." Do I *need* to go to the grocery store, or can I make it one more day? Do I have to go shopping, or can that wait? And this probably isn't the healthiest, but some weeks, I'll just have a night or two where I might only get 6 hours of sleep so I can work out in the a.m. I try not to let it get to that point - I <3 my sleep!

Oh my gosh! I'm sorry to hear you're not feeling well. That stinks. I hate working out when I'm sick so get some rest!
