March Wrap-Up

Image from http://www.tsbvi.edu

First, let me say that my total mileage for March blew January and February out of the water. I added it up last night and although it took me several tries (hey, what I can say? I’m bad at math and I was tired), I came up with a total monthly mileage of 87 miles.

Holy cow! That’s an increase of 34 miles over February. I haven’t always kept track, but I know for sure I’ve never run that much in one month before. I mean, I did two 10 mile runs this month. Prior to March 2009 I‘d never run further than 9 miles.

Although there were some struggles this month, being able to run outside once again was both a literal and a figurative breath of fresh air to my running. Also, with the race less than 10 full days away I can say that I feel confident. I’ve definitely gotten speedier, I’ve definitely increased my mileage, my endurance is good and, knock-on-wood, I’ve stayed injury-free. My left shin hasn’t even given me issues the past few runs.

So, overall March was a good month. But know what would make it better? How about a $100 gift certificate to Online Shoes? Yes, my name is Erin and I have a shoe addiction. I can't help but enter that giveaway!

PS. Stay tuned because later this week I'll be posting about how I tried out the 30 Day Shred workout DVD. Complete with photo evidence of why doing any sort of floor exercise can be difficult at my house.

PPS. Blogger is really irritating me today. I apologize for any strange formatting errors that may have occurred.
