Burgers & Beer 5K Race Report


What’s the best way to end a Monday?  How about with a 5K race?

Sigh. I so wanted to do this race. But with the race I did last Thursday and the fitting in of my long runs during the week now, I decided against it.

Bummer. Because I've been super curious as to how 312 out of a can tastes...

The key is getting in a long run with a race is to treat the race as part of your longer run!  Just, you know, put the race on the tail end of a longer warm-up so you don’t have to wait for beer.
Sounds like a fun race, and all of the extras make it worth the $45.
AWESOME!!! Looks like a blast and congratulations on an amazing finishing time!!! The Montrose lakefront area is really nice, too!

P.S. I am thisclose to registering for the PAWS 8K and Adam even said he would do the 4K walk. =D =D =D

Do it!  You should totally register for it.  It’s for a good cause and the race is nicely done.
Nice job! I think I may have seen you two start your warmup as I was finishing mine. I didn't know it was you at the time, haha.

A friend of mine is one of the race directors and I think they did a great job!

One of my friends knows the race directors, too.  I agree, they did great.

It was a lot of fun!   I hope they do it again next year and that it works with my schedule.
Awesome race! I am impressed by how many people came out! And love that they had veggie burgers too.

I see we have to use Facebook or have a Chicago Now account to comment over there? Is that the only way?

Yes, unfortunately that is a limitation of their system. 
A 5K race is a great choice to end a Monday. Even if you don't take part in such activities, a workout at the end of the day is a great alternative.
